 Elementary
 

Basic Elementary Program (K-5)

All students study language arts which includes reading, writing, speaking, listening, spelling, and handwriting. Mathematics, science, social studies, and health are also taught. Class sizes average less than 27 which helps develop a good relationship between the teacher and student. Special classes are provided for art, vocal music, physical education, and technology. Fifth graders can choose instrumental music. Outdoor Education, a unique learning experience at the district's Skinner Lake Camp, is offered in grades 1, 3, & 5.

Kindergarten Alternative

Early Five's Program
The Early Five's Program is an alternative parents can choose for any child who needs more time to grow and develop before kindergarten.

 Middle School
 

Grades 6-9
Middle School is viewed as the bridge between the elementary classroom and the high school individualized schedules. Students at the middle school facilities are prepared for high school work and provided with opportunities for exploration and social growth.

Curriculum
Students complete requirements in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies which encompasses world cultures, geography, and early American history. Foreign language, industrial arts, home economics, computer skills, keyboarding skills, art, and instrumental & vocal music are available.
 

 High School
 

Grades 10-12

The district operates two traditional high schools: both Class A High Schools - each with approximately 900 students.

Lapeer High School

Lapeer High School is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The high school program is designed to meet the needs of all students: college bound, career/vocational, and general education.

  • Business Education:  Business Education is for students planning on entering the business world or pursuing additional study at a business school/college: courses focus on business, keyboarding, accounting, speed writing, and office technology.

  • College Preparatory:  College preparation is for students planning on attending a four-year college: extensive course work offerings include English, foreign language programs (French or Spanish), math (including calculus), science (including advanced chemistry and advanced biology), social studies, and computer sciences.

  • Vocational/Technical:  The Lapeer County Vocational Technical Center ranks second among all Michigan career and technical centers in job placement for graduates.  More than 18 different programs are available at the Center in Attica, providing graduates with a wide range of marketable skills.
