Lapeer Early College
Lapeer Early College
Lapeer Early College (LEC)
represents a great opportunity for students and parents. Students who enroll in LEC commit to a three-year experience, starting in their junior year. LEC builds upon our current College on Campus program, and offers students the opportunity earn up to an associate degree after completing their 13th year.
Through a partnership with Mott Community College and Baker College (two of our College on Campus partners), we are able give our students access to college rigor in high school while saving their parents a lot of money on college tuition. LEC students commit to three years in the program, starting in their junior year, and progress toward an associate degree. For students, the opportunity is golden; for parents, the savings are substantial,
as the District covers most, and in some cases all, of the costs
; and, as you may have noticed, college isn’t getting any cheaper.
Even though students commit to a 13th year, they will be able to participate in all senior-year activities including commencement. This is a win-win proposition for students and parents!
