COVID-19 Reporting Information

Close Contact Quarantine Recommendations

Based on close contact exposure, it is recommended, but not required, for unvaccinated students to self-quarantine. Lapeer County Health Department recommends the following quarantine options for close contact exposures:

Quarantines are not necessary for fully vaccinated students or if you have tested positive within the last 90 days unless your child begins to experience symptoms following an exposure.

Again, the above quarantine options are recommended, and NOT required. If you choose to quarantine your child during this time using one of the options above, you must contact the attendance secretary at their school and then assignments and instructional content will be posted in Google Classroom. You should continue your schoolwork in this remote setting until the end of your quarantine period. Contact your individual teachers if you require assistance.

Regardless if you choose to quarantine using any of the options listed above, you must continue to monitor your child for symptoms for 14 days after the last date of exposure. If your child begins to experience primary symptoms of COVID, you must then keep your child off of district property and contact me at mary.moss@lapeerschools.org or 810-538-1604.

COVID-19 Potential Exposure Reports

The District will continue its practice of sharing information regarding positive cases of COVID-19 with the Lapeer County Health Department (LCHD).

We ask that all parents check students for symptoms daily prior to sending them to school. Any student or staff member exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 should stay home.

COVID- 19 symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.
